Did you notice the most important day of the year? Maybe you saw some amazing meme’s, heard the pitter patter of muddy paw prints or basked in the tantalizing aroma of puppy breath?! Get ready for blog post that glorifies all the overdose of cute puppers, because March 23rd was National Puppy Day!
Started in 2006, National Puppy Day is an all day for all dog enthusiasts to celebrate puppies. On this day we get a national day to share in the unconditional love and undeniable cuteness that these enthusiastic balls of fur bring to our lives.
Over at Renovation Tea we’re all softies when it comes to cute photos of our four-legged fur babies but today also has a serious note. Today we want to take the time to raise awareness of puppy mills. Puppy mills are bad guys, real bad. The adults are held in horrible conditions, often inbred to sell the latest trendy puppy to people searching for that ‘perfect’ purebred.
If you’re considering a puppy, yes even a specific breed, do your homework. Make sure the breeder you are purchasing from is reputable. But our favorite option is adoptions. Take a stroll down to your local shelter and feast your eyes on the local puppers (and adult dogs) in need of a future forever home + some love and affection.

Healthy Eats For Your Doggo: Banana Oat CBD Dog Treats
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1 cup oat flour
- 2/3 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup dried parsley
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- Healthy Hound: CBD Drops Bacon flavored
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F.
- Put the peeled banana in a large bowl and use a spoon to mash it thoroughly.
- Add oat flour, oats, parsley, peanut butter and egg to the bowl. Stir well to combine. Set aside to rest for 5 minutes.
- After finished resting, part mixture into 24 equal sized balls.
- Transfer balls to a large parchment paper-lined baking sheet, flatten into coins. Bake until cookies are firm and deep golden brown on the bottom, 40 to 45 minutes. Set aside to let cool completely.
- Apply Healthy Hound: CBD Drops to the tops, dosing appropriately for your doggo, store in an airtight container in the fridge.
